To solve this problem, you simply need to calibrate the printer. To do so:

- Right-click on the Zebra Designer printer and select "Printing Preferences".
- Select the "Advanced Setup" tab, then click on the "Calibrate" button in the lower-right corner (see image below). The printer will feed two labels and calibrate to the labels you are using.

Black Bar Prints on Label
If your Zebra Eltron Thermal Printer is printing a solid black bar on your labels, this is typically caused by a damaged or incompatible printer driver. To correct this problem, we recommend installing a new copy of the printer driver by following the Installation and Setup guide.
Your labels should now print correctly. If this does not solve your problem, please Contact Customer Support.
Upside-Down Printing
If your Zebra Eltron Thermal Printer is printing upside-down images on your labels, there are two reasons why this may be occurring:
- The first cause of this issue is due to an incorrect setting in the printer's driver. To correct this problem, please do the following:
- Open the Start Menu and select "Devices and Printers", "Printers", or "Printers and Faxes".
- Right-click on the Zebra Eltron printer icon and select "Printing Preferences".
- Within the "Options" tab, change the "Rotate 180°" setting by checking or unchecking it (see image below).
- Click "OK" and then print a sample of your label. The label should now print correctly.
- The other cause of upside-down label printing is due a damaged or incompatible printer driver. To correct this problem, do the following:
- Install a new copy of the printer driver by following the steps in this guide: Configuring the Zebra Eltron Printer Drivers.
- Print a sample of your label. If it is still upside-down, follow these steps once more and the issue should be resolved.
If the solutions above do not solve your problem, please Contact Customer Support.
Light or Faint Printing
If your Zebra Eltron Thermal Printer is printing labels that are too light or faint, this is typically caused by an incorrect driver setting, and can easily be solved. To do so:
- Open the Start Menu and select "Devices and Printers", "Printers", or "Printers and Faxes".
- Right-click on the Zebra Eltron printer icon and select "Printing Preferences".
- Within the "Options" tab, increase the "Darkness" setting to 13 (see image below).
- Click "OK" and then print a sample of your label. The label should now print correctly.
